Overview

The Ama Yangri Trek is a 7-day adventure through the pristine and culturally rich Helambu region, located just a few hours from Kathmandu. This trek offers a perfect blend of cultural exploration and scenic beauty, making it ideal for both beginner trekkers and those seeking a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path experience.

Starting from Kathmandu, the journey begins with a scenic drive to Timbu, where you will start trekking to Tarkeghyang, a quaint Buddhist village. From here, you'll ascend to Ama Yangri Peak (3,371m), which is revered as a sacred spot by the locals. The peak offers magnificent views of Langtang, Ganesh Himal, and other Himalayan ranges, as well as stunning sunrises that illuminate the mountains.

The trek continues through dense forests, tranquil villages, and ancient monasteries. Along the way, you'll be immersed in Sherpa and Tamang culture, and explore hidden gems like Sermanthang. The route is scenic yet manageable, with comfortable stays in local lodges and an opportunity to connect with nature and local traditions.

After reaching the village of Sermanthang, the journey concludes with a scenic drive back to Kathmandu, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Helambu's tranquil landscapes, vibrant culture, and panoramic mountain views.
